Hate and Violence

“We want Blogger to enable free expression, including the hosting of views and opinions that are unpopular,” Google spokesman Steve Langdon said.
“However, advocating violence against a person is not acceptable.”
I was reading this article on the CRTC been asked to block access to U.S. websites read article.
Hate crime is not an expression it’s an intent to entice others to commit violence against us, I don’t believe in blocking Adult Canadians from viewing any site regardless of its content, the site is offensive and against our hate crime laws and should be illegal in any other country and they (US) have a moral obligation to remove such offensive material from the Internet.
If Hitler was alive today he would be blogging, would we allow him to preach genocide?
Update August 28, 2006 the CRTC refused to block the sites, read this article at The Star by Michael Geist.

Boo Hoo
We live in a world that touts itself on being more tolerant, but what exactly does that mean? We live in a world that also talks about freedom of expression, free speech and free will.
In my opinion – and I do stress this – most people are to stupid to make opinions on serious matters that concern humnakind. So someone says that Jews are a pest – this is his opinion. Some say the death of 6 million Jews was a myth – this is just another opinion. If you’ve done your homework, you will find the facts you need to agree with someone or disagree with someone. That’s all. Maybe some sort of reconciling can happen between both parties, but condemning is hardly the answer.
Rob Reiner is blasting Mel Gibson over this very thing. If Mr. Reiner knows that Mel Gibson is way off – educate him & tell him you don’t agree with his views and try and come to some mutual agreement where you can get on with things.
We have to try and start acheiving some sort of harmony out there. It requires a real commitment to believing in out ‘freedoms’ and a real commitment to each other – putting race, religion et al aside.
I’m sure if Hitler was blogging he would been seen as a fool by MOST intellegent people – good fodder.
